My brother's silent handshake with our dad inspired a character moment
I saw my brother and dad exchange a handshake without words yesterday. It was their way of saying goodbye as he left for a trip. It hit me how much can be said without speaking. This could be a great prompt for writing about non-verbal family bonds. Anyone have ideas for scenes like this?

Oh man, my buddy Tom told me his grandpa just gave him a single pat on the shoulder when he left for college. Didn't say a word, but Tom said it meant everything. That stuff really gets you.

My dad does this thing where he just nods instead of saying goodbye. Those quiet moments hit harder than any big speech, you know?

That silent handshake really shows how families connect without words. It's like a whole conversation happens in just a few seconds. Those moments stick with you longer than any big speech.

Remember when you thought those quiet goodbyes were just awkward? I used to think my uncle's quick hug meant nothing until he did it when I moved out... now I get it.
