Spent $40 on a 'writing prompt generator' app and it was a total waste
I saw an ad for this app that promised 'endless unique story starters' so I bought the full version. For a week, every prompt it gave me was some version of 'a character finds a mysterious object' or 'someone wakes up with a new power'. I could have gotten better ideas scrolling through free forums for five minutes. It actually made me feel LESS creative because the suggestions were so boring. Has anyone found a tool or method for prompts that doesn't feel so generic?

Maybe you just didn't use it right.

Yeah, that's always their first answer, isn't it?

People jump to blame the tool because it's an easy out. My old blender was a nightmare until I read the manual and stopped overfilling it. Sometimes the problem is rushing or skipping steps. Not every bad result is the product's fault.
