The prompt generator trick I only found after 3 years of writing
Been using a random prompt website for my short stories since 2021, and I just realized last Tuesday I was hitting the "generate" button instead of the "shuffle" button... the shuffle tag lets me pick genres, which is why every single story I wrote was either a haunted lighthouse or a talking dog. A comment on my latest piece asked if I ever wrote anything else, and that's when it clicked. Anyone else been stuck on one prompt theme for way too long?

oh man, the shuffle button being hidden is such a mood. honestly though, you probably wrote those talking dog stories better than anyone else could have, lol. but now that you found the genres, you're gonna go crazy with options. maybe try a haunted lighthouse AND a talking dog combo, that could actually be fire. once you start mixing themes youll never go back, trust me. i did the same thing with a character name generator last year, stuck on "marcus" for like 10 stories before i realized there was a dropdown.
