Showerthought: my friend in Austin got his Instagram hacked last month because he reused a password.

He says a password manager is overkill, but I think it's basic now. Where do you stand on using them for everything?

Oh man, calling a password manager overkill is wild to me. It's like saying a lock on your front door is extra. My buddy had his bank account drained from a reused password on some dumb gaming forum. Remembering one master phrase is way easier than fifty different codes, or getting your stuff stolen.

Just use "password123" for everything, what could go wrong.

Been there, done that, got the t-shirt (and the fraud alert texts). Used the same easy password on a few sites years back, and one of them got hacked. Took weeks to sort out the mess. Downloading a free password manager was the easiest fix ever. Now it makes all my crazy strong passwords and fills them in for me. It's just less stress.

My old email got popped from a dumb data leak, switching to a manager saved me a ton of headaches.
