Matched with my coworker's ex and the group chat exploded in 6 hours

Last Friday I swiped right on a guy who seemed normal, funny, all that. We chatted for maybe 2 hours before he mentioned he worked at the same hospital as my coworker Dana. I asked Dana about him and she goes, "Oh no, that's my ex who stole my cat." Turns out he took her cat after a breakup and still posts the cat on his dating profile as a sympathy magnet. I unmatched him, but Dana saw my screenshot and now our whole group chat is roasting me for almost going out with him. Has anyone else unknowingly matched with someone your friend warned you about? What did you do after you found out?

Did your group chat at least rank him by cat-stealing severity, or was it just a free-for-all? My friends once roasted me so hard for matching with a dude who turned out to be their waiter's ex that I almost moved cities.
