Vent: Drove 45 minutes for a date and she brought her friend along

So I matched with this girl on Hinge last week, we talked for a few days, seemed cool. She picked a coffee shop about 45 minutes from my place, which was fine. I get there and she's sitting with her friend, both of them laughing. She just said "hope you don't mind, Sarah wanted to meet you too." I didn't know what to do so I stayed for like 20 minutes then made an excuse to leave. Has anyone else had someone pull this kind of surprise group hangout on a first date?

Ask if the friend even left at any point or just sat there the whole time. Sounds like she set up a group interview instead of a date. Did she text you after trying to explain or just ghost?

Three friends on a first date is a hard no for me... the friend never left, did she. Sounds like she wanted backup in case things got awkward. I'd just move on honestly.
