My brother called my favorite conspiracy video 'obvious deepfake trash'
I showed him this clip of a politician saying something wild, which I'd been sharing for months... he paused it, pointed out the weird neck blur and the voice pitch shift, stuff I never noticed. Now I can't unsee those little errors in other videos, and I'm questioning a bunch of stuff I thought was real. How do you even start to verify a video you find online anymore?

Ever feel like your brother just gave you the red pill for video proof? Once you see those little glitches, you start doubting everything online. Good luck trusting any clip without a full forensics team now, lol.

Man, that's a tough spot. It's like pat_moore said, once you see the glitches you can't stop looking for them. I've started noticing this everywhere, not just with videos but with photos and even news stories, where the first thing I see online just feels totally fake. The real work now is trying to find the original source of anything, which is almost impossible. It makes you want to just ignore everything, but then you feel out of the loop.

Yeah that "find the original source" thing is so real. My buddy got into a huge fight last week because he shared a crazy photo of a bear in a shopping mall. Looked totally real, everyone was freaking out. Took him like three hours to track it back to some art student's portfolio from 2019. Felt like a detective for nothing. It's exactly what you're saying, @angela_robinson, you either waste your whole day fact-checking or just feel dumb later.
