Had a Cummins ISX dump a gallon of oil in my driveway last Tuesday
I was changing the oil on a 2015 Peterbilt 579 at my place and the drain plug gasket decided to give out halfway through. Oil went everywhere, about 7 quarts all over the concrete before I got the new plug in. Anyone got a trick for getting oil stains out of asphalt without using a whole bag of kitty litter?

Dawn is good but try spraying some oven cleaner on it first, let it sit for like 10 minutes then scrub with a wire brush and hose it down. My uncle ran a truck repair shop out of his backyard for years and that's what he always did when the concrete got nasty. I remember one time a buddy of mine spilled a whole gallon of hydraulic fluid on his new driveway and was freaking out about it. He went through three bags of kitty litter before someone told him about the oven cleaner trick and it got most of it up after a couple scrubs.

You ever try Simple Green on something like that? I used to swear by the cat litter method, just let it soak up what it could and deal with the rest later. But last year I had a similar mess with a 6.7 Powerstroke that dumped maybe 6 quarts on my pad, and a buddy told me to try @the_piper's Dawn trick. Man, I have to admit I was wrong about that stuff. Dawn cut through it way faster than I expected, even with the oil that had been sitting for a few hours. Between that and a pressure washer, my driveway looks almost new now, no bag of litter needed.
