I thought synthetic oil in my old Cummins was a scam until I did a tear-down at 300k miles
The lifter valley was so clean I could eat off it compared to the sludge bomb I pulled apart from a truck that ran conventional its whole life, anyone else seen results like that or was I just lucky with this particular engine?

Does it feel like once you see the difference in one area, you start noticing the same kind of thing everywhere? I mean, it's like using the good stuff on your lawn mower or even just washing your car with decent soap instead of dish soap. The payoff shows up way later, not right away. Your engine is proof that spending a little extra upfront saves a ton of hassle down the road. It's a quiet, slow win that most people never even see until it's too late.

Haha totally agree with you there. I started with using nicer oil in my truck and before I knew it I was buying the mid range stuff for everything from my drills to the lawn mower. Its like a domino effect once you see how much smoother stuff runs you just can't go back to the cheap crap.

Man, that domino effect is real. Started with motor oil, now I'm buying better trash bags
