My drawing tablet pen died mid-stream and I had to finish with a mouse

Monday night I was live on Twitch showing my digital painting process and the pen just stopped working. Battery was dead and I didn't have a spare. Had to finish the piece using a standard mouse for like 45 minutes. It actually turned out better than I expected because I couldn't do my usual sketchy strokes. Has anyone else had a hardware failure force them into a different style?

yo that's wild lol. it's funny how sometimes getting forced out of your comfort zone actually makes you level up. i had a similar thing happen with my old wacom where the usb port got messed up and i had to use a mouse for like a week straight. ended up getting way cleaner lines and way more confident with my strokes because i couldn't rely on all the sketchy messy stuff i usually do. it's like your brain has to find new ways to get the same result and sometimes that shortcut becomes a permanent tool in your arsenal. i still switch to mouse sometimes just to mix it up and keep things fresh.
