Finally figured out how to get Facebook groups to actually drive traffic to my blog
For the longest time, I was just dropping my links into Facebook groups and getting zero clicks. I spent about 6 months doing that with maybe 10 visits total. Then I tried something different. I started engaging with the group first, answering questions and posting useful comments for two weeks before sharing anything of mine. When I finally did share a post, I made sure it was a question or a story, not just a link. That one post got me over 200 clicks in a day. Has anyone else had better luck with groups by holding back on the self-promotion at first?

Three months honestly. I had this whole draft saved in my notes app and just sat on it because I kept second guessing if anyone would actually care what I had to say.

Oh man, that's exactly what I went through too! I spent months just dumping links into groups and wondering why nobody cared, then I started actually talking to people first and it was like a light switch flipped. The whole "give before you take" thing felt weird at first but now I spend way more time commenting on other people's stuff than promoting my own and it works so much better.
