Dropped $600 on a solar panel kit that barely works

Bought this "all-in-one" solar starter kit from a guy on Craigslist near Flagstaff. Hooked it up to my cabin and the charge controller died after three days, so now I'm running a generator again. Anyone else get burned buying used solar gear from random people?

Oh MAN that is SO frustrating! I had a similar issue with a used panel setup from a guy outside Tucson @pat781, and what finally worked was buying a separate charge controller from a local solar shop for like $80.

Same thing happened to me with a setup I bought near Sedona last summer. That first dead controller made me want to toss the whole thing in the dumpster.

Honestly that "barely works" part hit home. I feel your pain, dropping that kind of cash for a dud is brutal.
