Best day I had tracking a package thief with a $20 pen camera
I set up a cheap pen camera hidden in my porch plant last Tuesday, and it caught the guy red-handed stealing a delivery in 4K. The clarity surprised me for the price, has anyone else had luck with these budget cams for real surveillance?

Honestly, is it really that serious? Tbh, you caught a guy stealing a package, not solving a murder case. Ngl, setting up hidden cameras feels a bit extra for some Amazon orders. It's a porch pirate, not a master criminal, and I doubt that $20 pen cam holds up in any kind of real evidence situation. You probably could have just yelled at him from your window and saved yourself the setup time.

Nah, I gotta disagree with you there. It's not really about the dollar amount of the package, it's about someone thinking they can just help themselves to your stuff. Setting up a camera feels like a reasonable step when you've had stuff walk off before, especially if you work odd hours and can't just be home to yell at people. Plus that video footage can actually help the cops build a case if they've got a pattern of thefts in the neighborhood. I'd rather have proof than just some he-said-she-said situation with a neighbor who might not even care.
