Found a super cheap way to hide a dashcam in plain sight

I drive a landscaping truck and wanted a dashcam but didn't want it stolen or obvious. Tried mounting it behind the rearview mirror but it still stuck out. Then I grabbed an old phone mount, gutted it, and fitted the camera inside the plastic housing. It looks like I'm just holding a phone up for GPS. Anyone else repurposed random objects for hiding gear like this?

My phone mount disguise would probably just confuse people since my phone is always on the charger at home.

Hate when that happens, man. Same here, my phone barely leaves the nightstand these days.

Good for you, honestly. I finally had to just buy a second charger for my living room. Kept forgetting to move my phone from bedroom to car and back. So now I just plug it in wherever I end up. Makes the whole mount thing a non-issue for me.
