Busted a dozen sheets when my lift slipped on a remodel in Memphis

I was hanging 5/8 fire tape on a vaulted ceiling in a house off Poplar. The lift had been sitting uneven on the subfloor, I knew it felt wrong but I was trying to push through. About 4 sheets in the whole thing tipped sideways. Cracked 12 boards clean in half. Had to eat the cost on the material since it was a lump sum bid. Do you guys usually re-bid when you run into bad subfloor conditions or just factor it in upfront?

Tbh saw a buddy have this exact thing happen on a job in Nashville" - yeah, Nashville's been wild for construction lately but I think you might be mixing up two different code issues. That specific problem usually pops up more in areas with older infrastructure, like some parts of Memphis or Chattanooga. Nashville's newer builds tend to have it handled better on the front end.

Pull the permit records on that job and check the phase tap sequence. Bet your buddy's crew had the neutral and ground bonded in two places.
