PSA: That cheap bulk tape from the online marketplace is a total trap

Honestly, I bought a 500 foot roll of 'pro grade' mesh tape from a random seller for half the price of the name brand stuff. Tbh, the adhesive was basically useless and it kept bubbling on a ceiling job in a new build over in the Westgate subdivision. Ngl, I lost a full day redoing it all with proper tape, which cost me about $400 in labor. Has anyone found a decent budget brand that actually holds up, or is it just not worth the risk?

Learned that lesson the hard way myself. The glue just turns to dust in the heat. I don't even look at the no-name stuff anymore. It's a total false saving. The waste of time and money is never worth it. Just stick with the known brands, even if it hurts the wallet up front.

Ever try to fix something with that cheap glue and have it fail at the worst time? @paulw53 is totally right. I had a garden chair leg snap, used a bargain tube, and it held for a week. Then my cousin sat down and it just gave up, left a dusty mess. Felt so dumb because I had to redo the whole fix with the good stuff anyway. That false saving cost me an afternoon.
