Tried to fly a drone in my town park, got a $75 ticket instead

I took my DJI Mini out to Oak Park last Saturday, just wanted some aerial shots of the pond. Cop rolled up and handed me a citation for violating some old ordinance from 1982 that bans any 'remotely piloted aircraft' in city parks. Guess I should have checked the town website first. Anyone else run into random outdated rules like this?

Damn that sucks lol. Kinda reminds me of this time my buddy got a ticket for having his hammock up in a park because of some 1980s rule about "obstructing the view" of the gazebo. Nobody had enforced it in 20 years until that one day.

Found the same thing with my local park, called the town clerk and asked if they ever actually ENFORCE that rule. Turns out the ordinance was dead for years but they usually just waved people off, the cop was just being a jerk.
