Spent $80 on a capacitor tester that was just a multimeter with a sticker

Bought it off a Facebook ad from some guy in Ohio, and when I cracked it open to see why it wouldn't read anything, the board was identical to a $20 meter I already had. Has anyone else fallen for one of these rebranded scams?

Read somewhere that this happens because we store tools in different spots. Like you keep your main wrench set in the garage but toss a spare in the junk drawer, then forget about it. Makes total sense, lmao.
