Rant: A firefighter argued that our elevator recall procedures are too slow

He said, 'Your five-minute reset is a lifetime in a fire stairwell.' Has anyone else had to defend our standard response times to other trades?

Oof, yeah... I once had a plumber tell me my diagnostic speed was "glacial." Can't win 'em all.

Actually, that plumber had a point. Slow and careful diagnostics can save a ton of money by avoiding wrong fixes. Rushing to a conclusion just to be fast is how you get a big bill for the wrong repair. Taking the time to be sure is the real professional move, even if it feels slow. Speed doesn't mean much if the problem comes right back next week.
