Talked to a kid who got into the trade through a YouTube channel last week

He was 19 and said he learned more from watching a guy with 200 subscribers troubleshoot a busted MRL machine than he did from his whole apprenticeship textbook, and it hit me that the way we pass down knowledge has completely flipped since I started.

Read something the other day about a guy who fixed an old lathe just by following a 15-minute video from some random dude in Ohio. The kid said the textbook diagrams showed a perfect machine that never breaks, but the YouTube guy showed how to actually fix one that's been running since the 70s. Makes you wonder if the whole apprenticeship model needs to catch up, because that kid passed his cert test first try after watching those videos.

Man, that's wild how things are changing so fast.

Beat you to it, @nelson.vera. The book stuff never taught me wiring like the guys in the field did.
