Showerthought: My city's summer humidity is changing how I do extractions.

The air here gets thick and sticky every July. Clients' pores seem more clogged than usual. I adjusted my steaming time to be longer now. Added a cooling mask right after to soothe the skin. Saw less redness and better results last week. It's a small tweak for local weather issues. Might help others in humid areas too.

Totally get this. Switched to a lighter clay mask in summer too, makes a huge difference. The steam change you mentioned is smart.

How big of a difference does a lighter mask really make? Steam tweaks seem like overthinking it.

My skincare routine is already extra, so the steam thing felt like a natural next step. It's basically just holding my face over a warm bowl of water for a minute. That little bit of warmth seems to open things up so the lighter mask can work better. My skin felt cleaner without that tight, dry feeling afterwards. It sounds fussy but it's become a relaxing little ritual. Charles, try it once before you write it off.

Ever try a gel mask instead? I found it cleans without that tight feeling at all...
