Overheard a roof guy say my vent boots were sealed wrong

I was doing a service call at a new build and the roofer pointed out I used mastic instead of flashing around the bathroom vent. Switched to proper flashing boots on the last two houses and no more callbacks about leaks.

Yeah, that "takes some guys years to learn" part really hit home @nguyen.angela. I used to think that being right and winning every argument was the most important thing in a relationship. I thought that if I just explained things clearly enough, she'd understand and agree with me. But after a few hard lessons I realized that listening and letting small things go is way more valuable. It's not about keeping score or proving a point, it's about making the other person feel heard. That changed everything for me.
