Warning: I found a way to get around a bank's 'social media review' for a loan

I was trying to get a small business loan last year and got flagged for a 'social media risk check'. The bank said they saw some of my old posts on a public forum. I made a new, clean profile on a different platform and used that one for all my public stuff for about three months. When I reapplied, I just gave them that new profile link and it worked. Is this a legit workaround or am I just setting myself up for trouble later?

So they only checked the one link you gave them, huh? What if they do a deeper search later and find your old forum posts linked to your name or business?

Totally, that happened to me once!

Right, it's like they do the bare minimum check and call it a day. I had a client who only looked at my main portfolio site. They never found my old dev blog from years ago where I was way more opinionated. It worked out fine, but it's a real gamble if someone decides to dig deeper later on.
