Always rushed through consults, but a repeat client's feedback made me slow down.

Taking an extra five minutes to listen has cut my redo requests by half.

That bit about cutting redo requests in half, a buddy of mine learned the same thing. He started adding a few minutes to just talk it out and it worked out way better.

A short chat upfront really does save a ton of time fixing things later.

Remembered I used to be the king of the rushed haircut consult. Told a guy "short on the sides" once and he came back looking like I'd used a lawnmower. Turns out he meant a two guard, not a half-inch blade. Now I point at pictures like my life depends on it. That extra minute saves a whole lot of "oh, you meant that short.

Ever notice how bartenders get your order right by just paying attention?
