A sunny break turned my rough path around
I was feeling worn out on a steep section of the forest path. Then I sat on a log in a patch of sun and felt totally refreshed. Do you have a go-to spot that always picks you up on a long walk?

Wait, you found a dry log? In a forest? Every log I find is either soaked through, covered in weird moss, or home to a bunch of bugs. Last time I tried to sit on one, my pants got instantly damp. How did you manage to find a good one in a sunny patch that didn't have ants all over it? That's like trail magic right there, a perfect seat showing up exactly when you need it.

Flat rocks are the ONLY way to go in my book. I've had too many experiences like park.xena where logs just soak through everything. One time I sat on what looked like a dry stump and ended up with a wet spot that looked AWFUL. Rocks might be hard, but at least they're reliable and never soggy. It's like nature's version of a SOLID chair, you know?

Honestly, isn't it funny how we all have our own rules for a good rest spot, like @park.xena and the whole dry log debate? Tbh I see this everywhere, not just on trails. People get super set on their one right way to do a simple thing, like the best bench in a park or the perfect coffee shop table. It's like we're all just looking for our own little patch of sun in a day, you know? We find what works for us once and then we stick to it, trying to make that good feeling happen again.
