Switched to magnesium glycinate for my PMDD and it actually helped
I used to take magnesium oxide for my cramps and mood swings but it just gave me stomach issues. My therapist suggested trying magnesium glycinate instead and within 3 days my sleep improved and the rage before my period calmed down a lot. Has anyone else had better luck with one form of magnesium over another for hormone related mood stuff?

Yeah so @the_thomas nailed it, the glycinate hit me way faster too. Took 200mg before bed and by the second night I was out cold and woke up not wanting to punch someone for breathing.

Oh wow, that's actually really interesting. I've been taking magnesium oxide for years and it never really did much for me either, just the stomach stuff you mentioned. Did you notice any difference in how quickly the glycinate kicked in compared to the oxide? Like was it a gradual thing over those 3 days or did you wake up one morning and just feel better? I've been hesitant to switch because the oxide is so cheap but maybe it's worth the extra money. Also, how much are you taking daily if you don't mind me asking?

@emery290 nah the oxide is basically useless, glycinate hit me like a truck by day two.
