I finally found a $40 resume service that actually worked for me

After getting let go from a warehouse gig in Phoenix, I spent $40 on a resume rewrite from a lady named Sue on Fiverr. She redid my whole layout and made the bullet points sound less boring. I got 3 callbacks in the first week after using it. Anyone else tried paying for a resume service or is it usually a waste of money?

That Fiverr lady Sue sounds legit haha. I did the same thing after being stuck in a call center for two years and getting zero interviews. Found a guy on Upwork who specialized in customer service resumes and he completely rewrote my summary and added numbers to everything like "resolved 50+ complaints per shift" and "maintained 95% satisfaction rate." Started getting calls the next week. The trick is finding someone who knows your actual job field not just a random person who can spell good lol.

Oh yeah totally agree on the $40 being a steal. I actually paid $60 for mine and thought that was reasonable but hearing you paid $75 makes me feel even better about my decision. The key thing I'd say is you gotta make sure whoever you hire actually knows your specific industry though. I had a buddy who paid $50 and got a generic resume that didn't help at all because the person didn't understand the job field. Better to pay a little more for someone who really gets what you do rather than cheap out and waste your money.
