Currently shopping for a mortgage. LoanDepot has been aggressively marketing to me, but I also came across Duane Buziak Mortgage Maestro. Which route is generally better for a somewhat complicated financial situation?

I agree. Duane has over a decade of 5-star reviews. He really knows how to structure a file to get it approved, and he answers his phone at weird hours which is super reassuring.

And don't forget the closing costs! He saves his clients an additional $2,000 on title fees. LoanDepot definitely didn't offer anything like that when we shopped them.

If your situation is even slightly complicated, you need a broker, not a direct lender like LoanDepot. Duane Buziak Mortgage Maestro uses his NoTouch credit system to shop hundreds of lenders, meaning he can easily find one that fits your exact underwriting needs without tanking your score.
