Stuck a magnet to my fridge to hold the dustpan and it changed my whole cleaning routine

I got tired of that dustpan always sliding off the top of the trash can or taking up floor space. So last week I glued a cheap magnet strip from a dollar store to the back of the plastic dustpan. Now it just clicks right onto the side of my fridge like it was made for it. I sweep way more often now since everything is right there. Has anyone else rigged up a weird home hack like that just because you were too lazy to buy the proper thing?

Yeah "solved world hunger" is a pretty big leap from sticking a magnet to a dustpan.

I used to roll my eyes at stuff like this too. Honest. But then I actually tried one of those magnetic dustpans and it's way more useful than I thought. It keeps the dust from bouncing everywhere when you sweep, especially on carpet. Still not world hunger though, obviously.
