Rant: People who put ketchup on hot dogs are missing the point entirely

I was at a cookout last weekend and watched my neighbor drown a perfectly good Chicago dog in ketchup. It ruins the whole balance of mustard, relish, and sport peppers. Has anyone else had to bite their tongue watching someone ruin a classic?

Hear me out - this ketchup thing is just part of a bigger problem. People slap sweet, sugary stuff on everything without thinking. Same way folks drown salads in ranch dressing or put sugar in iced tea and call it "unsweetened." It's like we're addicted to the sweet hit. Hot dogs already have plenty of flavor from the smoke and salt. Mustard cuts through that, gives you tang. Ketchup just masks everything under a layer of corn syrup. Makes the whole thing taste like candy, not a damn hot dog.
