Almost lost a wheel to the sinkhole on 5th and Main last night
I was driving home around 11pm and hit that monster pothole near the old gas station on 5th and Main. It's basically a crater now, probably 8 inches deep and full of water so you can't even see it. My front tire bent the rim and I had to pull over and swap to a spare in the rain. Has anyone else reported this thing to the city or is it just me?

Yeah but did you actually report it to the city? I hit that same hole three weeks ago and filed a claim through the city website, they said they'd look into it but obviously nothing's happened. Did you take any photos of the damage right there on the spot? I had to get my alignment checked after and the shop said that hole is basically a lawsuit waiting to happen if someone on a bike or motorcycle hits it.

Oh man that thing is brutal! My buddy Sarah almost ended up in a ditch there last week, blew her tire out completely and had to wait two hours for a tow truck in the dark.

Oh gosh, that's terrifying! I'm actually more worried about the animals than the potholes themselves, you know? Like, Sarah's stuck car becomes a giant heat source in the dark, and every critter for miles is gonna want to check it out. I saw a post online once where a guy's dead battery had raccoons crawling all over his engine block because it was warm. Her two-hour wait probably had some unexpected furry visitors watching from the trees, which is honestly creepier than a flat tire.
