Walking through Blockbuster last week felt like a wake up call

I went into the old Blockbuster in Bend, Oregon just to see it one more time before it finally closes. Standing there looking at the empty shelves, I realized how the whole experience of picking a movie with friends just doesn't exist anymore with streaming. You'd argue over a box cover for 10 minutes and then someone would give in, that was half the fun. Why did we let convenience kill the ritual of actually hunting for a movie together?

Did I just hear myself say "hunting for a movie" like it was some kind of heroic quest instead of me and my brother circling the same shelf for 20 minutes over which comedy to rent?

What's the one argument you had back then that you'd actually miss having now?

@roberts.leo I'd miss arguing over who left the tape rewound for five straight minutes.
