Serious question, how do you stop your sci-fi ship models from sliding off shelves?

I had a bunch of small starship models that kept inching forward and falling. Tried those rubber shelf liners, but they bunched up. Now I use a thin bead of clear glue along the shelf edge to make a ridge. Let it dry solid overnight before putting models back. For bigger ships, I stick a bit of blue tack under each base. This has kept my fleet in place for months. No more picking pieces off the floor after the cat zooms by.

My friend's models kept inching forward on his glass shelves. He cut some of that waffle-pattern shelf liner to size, and they haven't budged since.

Smart use of that shelf liner to stop the creep. I'm so clumsy, I'd probably have glued mine down by now. Your friend's method is much cleaner.

Got it, shelf liner for plastic kits. Does that grip work for heavier stuff too, like resin figures or metal miniatures? My old metal dreadnought is a total shelf tank, it slowly drags everything with it. Wondering if the waffle stuff would still hold or if it needs something more heavy duty.

Wow, I doubted it at first, but my metal dreadnought hasn't slid an inch!
