My old laptop was overheating until I tried the penny trick

I have this 2015 Dell XPS that would shut down after 20 minutes of playing any game. I read somewhere that stacking a few pennies under the rubber feet could lift it for better airflow. I put 4 pennies under each corner, two stacks high, and now the fans barely spin up. Has anyone else tried weird shims or spacers like this?

Stacking pennies under the laptop" just shows how a tiny hack can fix a big problem, lol.

Real talk, those little adjustments add up to way bigger changes than people expect.

2015 Dell XPS was a great machine but those things ran hot from the factory. I had a similar issue with mine until I propped the back edge up on a couple of bottle caps. Did you notice any difference in how the bottom panel feels after a long gaming session? I'm curious if the pennies actually pull enough heat away or if it's just giving the fans more room to breathe. Also how thick are those pennies, because I used two bottle caps and it made the laptop feel a little wobbly on my desk. Honestly I think Dell should have just made the rubber feet taller from the start.
