Vent: A close call with a crumbling tank cover

I was on a job yesterday and the concrete cover cracked under my weight. This could have been a bad accident. Always check covers before you step on them.

Glad you're rethinking that, but checks really can't be optional.

Wait, you used to just skip checks entirely? Like write a rent check without making sure the money was there? What happens when it bounces and your landlord hits you with a huge fee, or your power payment fails and they cut you off? That seems like asking for a world of stress and extra charges you don't need.
