Found a whole wall of paste-ups that got ruined by rain in one night

I was biking through an alley downtown last Tuesday and saw this amazing collage of paste-ups someone clearly spent hours on, but by Wednesday morning they were all peeling off and ruined. Has anyone else noticed how fragile wheatpaste art is compared to spray paint?

Did you try a different glue mix? I had the same problem with some pieces I put up near a bus stop, and switching to a 1:3 ratio of flour to water with a little sugar mixed in made them stick way better in damp weather. The sugar helps the paste stay tacky even when it gets a little wet from light rain.

Yeah but doesn't the sugar just attract bugs though?
