Hit 500 unread emails and finally realized my spam filter is broken

I crossed 500 unread emails in my inbox yesterday morning and that was my breaking point. Half of them are obviously spam like fake invoice PDFs and bitcoin scams but my Gmail just lets them through. I checked my filter settings and nothing is wrong that I can see. Has anyone else noticed their spam filter getting lazy lately or did I accidentally turn something off?

Honestly 500 emails really isn't that bad until you see the fake invoices piling up... @brianm66 might be onto something about that slider though, sounds way too easy for Gmail to just flip it without telling you.

Check if Gmail moved your spam filter slider to low by accident in settings.
