Spent $35 on a used Palm Pilot at a thrift store, now I'm hooked on distraction-free scheduling

I found a Palm Pilot Vx at a Goodwill last weekend for 35 bucks. Figured it would be a funny paperweight but I actually charged it up and it still works perfectly. I've been using it for my daily to-do lists and calendar stuff and honestly it's kind of freeing not having my phone around. No notifications, no scrolling, just a stylus and my schedule. The sync cable took forever to find on Ebay for another 12 bucks but now I can backup data to an old laptop. Has anyone else tried going back to an old PDA for organizing your life, or am I just being nostalgic?

Oh man that's such a good find. I did something similar a couple years ago with an old iPod classic I found at a garage sale. Loaded it up with just music and podcasts, no internet at all. It really did cut down on how much I look at my phone during the day. The extra device thing is annoying sometimes but honestly leaving my phone in another room while I'm using the Palm is worth it for me.

I get the appeal but personally I think the phone does the same job if you just turn off notifications and don't install junk apps. @pat_moore a Palm Pilot sounds fun for a week until you realize you're carrying around an extra device and a stylus that'll get lost in a couch cushion. The distraction problem is in your head not your hardware.
