That $3 meat thermometer from 2017 still works better than the digital one I bought last month
Got a cheap analog thermometer at a hardware store in Omaha back when I was grilling in my apartment parking lot. Thing still reads within a degree of my instant read. New one from Target last week took 10 seconds longer and died after three uses. Made me wonder if planned obsolescence is hitting kitchen gear too.

Oh man, my buddy swears by this ancient spring-loaded thermometer he got at a flea market. It's beat up and ugly but somehow outlasts every fancy gadget he buys off Amazon.
