Power steps are a game changer I wish I'd tried sooner

I was dead set against motorized side steps for my F-250. Thought they'd break and cost a fortune to fix. Then I slipped off a wet rocker panel at a jobsite near Spokane last December. Spent $1200 on Amp Research steps and they've been flawless for 8 months. Anyone else have a mod they were totally wrong about?

I was the same way. I thought power steps were just another thing to break and drain the battery. Then I caught my shin on my old fixed step one too many times and finally gave in. Put Amp steps on my Ram 2500 about two years ago and theyve taken a beating in the Utah salt and mud with no issues. Changed my mind completely on them being a waste of money.

Take it from someone who learned the hard way, @morgan_king36, the Amp steps hold up way better than most expect in nasty weather. Mine have gone through a few winters in Minnesota with rock salt and slush and the motors still work like new. If you keep the pivot points greased every spring and fall, they'll last years without any issues.

Jumping in here because I gotta gently correct you on something - those Amp steps are actually made in the USA, not Utah just to be clear lol. They're built out of Indiana last I checked. But I feel you on the fixed step struggle though, smacking your shin on a wet or muddy step is the worst part of owning a lifted truck. My buddy has the same Amp steps on his 2500 and they've held up way better than I expected in the Northeast salt too. The motors are sealed pretty good so they don't crap out from road grime like some of the cheaper knockoffs do.
