Drywall patch took me 5 hours for a 6 inch hole
Thought I could slap some mud on and be done in an hour, but between cutting the square, screwing in backer boards, and waiting for three coats of compound to dry, it ate up my whole Saturday afternoon. Anyone else find that drywall repairs always take way longer than you plan?

Whole Saturday afternoon" is right lol. I've learned to just embrace it and plan for way more time than I think, especially with the drying. Hot mud for the first coat is a lifesaver though, cuts like an hour off waiting.

Oh man, the drying time is what always gets me too (and probably why I own like four different types of mud now). I swear I spend the first hour just staring at the wall like it'll magically dry faster if I glare hard enough.
