Hit 100 circuit breaker replacements last month. That number caught me off guard.

Been keeping a log for my own records and when I added up October I had done exactly 100 breaker swaps. Most were for a neighborhood in Canyon where the old Zinsco panels are finally giving out. Anyone else track random job stats like that?

Oh man, 100 in a month is wild. I had a buddy who was an electrician out in Ohio and he told me about this one street where every single house had the same old Federal Pacific panels. He said he did like 18 swaps in a row on that one block alone, and the homeowner association ended up paying for half of them because it was a known fire hazard situation. He kept a little notebook too, not for the numbers but for the weird stuff he found inside panels, like a petrified mouse once. He still talks about that job.

I gotta push back a little on the "petrified mouse" being weird. In my experience, that's actually pretty tame. I've seen nests of those little brown house geckos in panels, a dried out snake skin wrapped around a main breaker, and once a family of those big American cockroaches living behind a dead front. I'd take a petrified mouse over any of that. The HOA paying for half of those swaps is the real miracle here, in my experience those board members usually drag their feet so bad the project ends up getting put off for years.

So did you end up doing anything to keep track of your totals after that month? I started with a spiral notebook myself, just jotting down dates and panel brands. @phoenix_lewis, I get why your buddy keeps a log for the weird stuff too. Found a half-eaten bag of chips inside a panel once, guess a squirrel stashed it there. The Zinsco replacements are rough but at least you know they're actually failing, unlike some of those old panels that just look fine until they catch fire.
