Built my first AI audit checklist last week
Used to just eyeball datasets for bias. Big mistake. Got called out by a reviewer who found gender skew in 30% of my training labels. Spent three days building a checklist with specific checkpoints. Now I run it before every model drop. Has anyone else put together a formal review process?

Yeah, it's funny how the simple stuff makes the biggest difference. Checklists force you to slow down and actually look, which is hard to do when you're in a rush. Better a few extra minutes than a full redo later.

Dude, I was totally in the opposite camp for a long time. I used to think checklists were a waste of time, like bureaucratic busywork that slowed down the real work. Then I had my own "oh crap" moment with a model that was amplifying a racial bias I completely missed, which was embarrassing and costly. It took me a full weekend to build a bare bones list of checks, and now I feel naked if I push a model without running it through at least a few of them. Having a formal process is a lifesaver, it forces you to slow down and actually look at the data instead of just trusting your gut. I still don't love the extra step, but it's way better than getting called out in a review and having to redo everything.

Realized it's the same with meal prepping, everyone thinks it's overkill until they actually try it and see how much easier life gets.
