Took me 3 hours to fix an AI photo tagging mess at work yesterday

I spent a whole afternoon trying to get our product catalog photos sorted with an AI tagging tool. The tags kept mixing up similar items like red sneakers and red backpacks. Ended up having to manually go through 200 images to fix the mistakes. The system learned nothing from my corrections after an hour of tweaking. Has anyone else had an AI tool just ignore manual feedback like that?

Oh man, I feel your pain. Had the exact same thing happen with our inventory photos last spring - the AI kept labeling gray hoodies as "sweatpants" no matter how many times I corrected it. What finally kind of worked for me was deleting all my manual corrections and starting fresh with a really simple naming system. Like literally renaming the files "red_sneaker_01" instead of letting the AI guess from the raw file names. Also found out our tagging tool had a "learning lock" setting that was turned on by default, which basically told the AI to ignore user feedback. Might be worth checking your settings for something similar.

Oh man, did you check if there's a setting like @moore.beth mentioned? I had the same thing happen with a photo tagging tool for our store's shoe listings last month. It kept labeling all black boots as "loafers" no matter how many times I fixed it. I spent like 4 hours going through 150 images and the system just ignored everything. Turns out there was a toggle in the advanced settings that basically said "let user corrections override AI guesses" and it was turned off. That was the whole problem right there. Once I flipped that, the tool actually started learning from my fixes.
