Vent: That college demo on AI grading ruined my view of automated systems
I was at a community college open house in Denver last fall and saw them show off this AI grading tool for essays. The guy running it said it could spot 'original thinking' better than a human could. I asked how it handles a kid who writes like they talk, and he just shrugged. After that, I stopped trusting any AI tool that claims it can judge quality, not just catch errors. Has anyone else seen these demos and walked away less impressed?
