Spent a week tweaking my AI prompts for recipe ideas and finally found the magic phrase
I kept getting useless suggestions from ChatGPT until I added 'make it work with what's in my fridge right now' to the prompt. Suddenly it knew I had half a cabbage and some old cheese. Has anyone else hit on a random phrase that just clicks?

Honestly the trick is to not just list ingredients but give it context. Like instead of saying "I have cabbage and cheese" you gotta tell it "I have a half a head of cabbage that's about to go bad and some cheddar that's getting hard at the edges." The AI needs to know the state of things, you know? It changes what it suggests because it knows you're working with leftovers not a fresh shopping trip. I also found that saying "I don't want to buy anything new" really locks it in. Otherwise it just tosses out recipes that need random sauces or herbs you'll never have on hand.

Wait, did you actually try telling it stuff like "this is what's in my fridge" or did you just list ingredients?

@faith_shah88 I tried the "here's my random fridge stuff" approach and it totally worked better.
