Vision Pro at a Denver meetup changed my mind on AR glasses

I was one of the skeptics saying spatial computing was a gimmick. Then last Thursday I tried one for 20 minutes at a small demo event in Denver, and the way it tracked my hands with no controller felt totally different. The $3,500 price tag still makes me wince, but the tech is further along than the online noise suggests. Does anyone use theirs for actual work tasks, or is it mostly still a media and gaming thing for you?

Twenty minutes is enough to be impressed, but not enough to know if it beats a laptop for real work, right? I'd wait until the hype dies down before calling it a game changer.

and honestly that's the right way to look at it. I got one of the first tablets with a keyboard case back in the day and spent the first week just staring at it thinking it was the future. Then I tried to write a 40 page report with footnotes and multiple windows open, and let me tell you, the shine wore off real quick. The real test is day three when you're trying to do something boring and complicated, not when you're showing it off at a coffee shop. So yeah, give it a month, then we can talk about whether it's actually replacing anyone's laptop.
