Saw a stat that AI actually created more jobs than it removed last year and nobody talks about it

I was digging through a Bureau of Labor report from last quarter and found out that AI related roles went up by 12% while customer service jobs dropped by 4%. My buddy keeps saying robots are coming for everyone but the numbers show new positions popping up for people who can work with these systems. Why does everyone assume the worst when the data tells a different story?

Start looking at what actually gets posted for job openings instead of headlines. The dental office I work at just hired two people to manage our new AI scheduling system that replaced one receptionist spot. Those numbers are real but they hide the fact that the new jobs usually pay less and require different skills than the ones that disappeared. Best advice is to watch what certifications are trending in your field and pick one to learn before you actually need it.

You ever try picking up a free or cheap certification online just to test if you even like the new direction things are going? That's how I got into learning basic AI tools for my own field and it paid off way faster than I expected.
