Air fryer wings used to take me 45 minutes of flipping and I just got them done in 18 minutes flat

I used to do wings in the oven and it was this whole production. Preheat for 15 minutes, bake for 25, flip them, another 15 minutes. And they still came out soggy half the time. My buddy got an air fryer last Christmas and kept telling me to try it. Finally picked one up during a sale at Target two weeks ago. Threw in 10 frozen wings last night, hit 380 degrees, and 18 minutes later they were crispy all over. No flipping, no oil spray, no waiting. Has anyone found a specific temp that works best for frozen vs fresh wings? I'm still experimenting.

Have you tried parboiling fresh wings first? I read a food blog post last week where the guy tested air fryer wings at different temps. He said 375 for frozen is spot on, but fresh cleaned wings benefit from a quick 3 minute boil in salted water before going in at 400. Dries out the skin and renders some fat. I tried it Sunday and the skin was like crackling. Still no flipping needed.

You tried parboiling like @the_rowan mentioned? I did that with some fresh wings last week and it made a huge difference for me. 375 at 18 minutes with a quick shake halfway is where I'm landing for frozen ones so far.

Have you tried 400 for fresh wings to get that extra crunch?
