Oh man, my buddy did the exact same thing with the moon! He kept zooming all the way in and wondering why every shot came out as a fuzzy white smear, then one night he just left it wide and the whole thing looked crisp with the trees in the frame. He was so mad at himself for wasting years of blurry pics. The zoom on these phones is mostly just cropping and stretching pixels anyway, so you lose detail fast. Letting the sensor do its thing is the move.

A $90 end mill and a ground plate in one morning is a rough start to the week. When you say you rushed the setup after the long weekend, was it the G54 you skipped checking or the tool length offset? I ask because those are two very different habits to build. A lot of shops I know force a dry run above the part with the feed cranked way down before any tool ever gets near the fixture, and it catches this exact thing. Do you have a written setup sheet you check off, or is it all in your head? If it lives in your head, that is probably the real problem, not the long weekend.
